Bazz studied performing arts at college and university, in the 90's - winning the Empire Theatre award for the best Performing Arts student, by the end of the 20th Century.
He went onto dance and choreograph for many venues in the North-East and in 2001 became one of the winners of reality ITV show 'Red Hot Dance'.
In 2002, Bazz moved to Spain and became dance captain and principal choreographer of the 6th biggest club in Europe 'BCM' - working with many artists and DJ's.
After a performing career spanning 10 years, Bazz decided to open his own dance studio called 'Bazzmatazz', in 2006, which is still going strong.
Throughout his career, Bazz has taught many dance workshops and performed for many charities, including Marie Curie and Children In Need, in venues such as the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
He has compered, hosted and judged at events including the Overgate Hospice Colour Run, Let's Dance for NSPCC and Calderdale Pride....to name a few - and many of them as his drag alter-ego 'Dame Shirley Bazzey'.
He has also performed on a Bafta award winning BBC show and graced many stages around the world in destinations such as Cuba, Thailand and Greece.
In 2022, Bazz got the opportunity to record and release his debut single. The track
'Speak To Me', was released and he has since worked with many producers and remixers on a handful of further releases. In May 2024, his 6th single release,
'Qu'est-ce Que C'est?', spent 4 weeks at Number One on the
LGBTQ+ Music Chart.
Bazz continues to write and record music, with his recent self-penned 'The Dame' hitting the LGBTQ+ Music Charts in September 2024.
Bazz has been teaching, choreographing, producing shows and has performed, entertained and hosted at various events, around the world, for over 25 years.
